Life Drawing Sessions - Printmaking Studio - Ceramics Studio

“To be able to work with professionally well known artists along with individuals from the community who contribute diverse experiences — this is the unique benefit of MMA. A true democratization of creativity and arts for all who choose it.” — Aparna Agrawal

The studios at Maud Morgan Arts are available for group or individual rental and special projects when classes are not in session. Contact the MMA Director to discuss and schedule your proposal.

Life Drawing Sessions

“Life drawing sessions at Maud Morgan Arts set a high standard for the excellent quality of the models. Concentration is intense without being intimidating, and is conducive to the individual drawer's intense exploration of the human figure. The format of the sessions is relaxed and flexible.” — Jill Hoy

Description

Life drawing sessions are on-going, as long as there is sufficient demand. Tickets to attend can be purchased in blocks of ten, and used as cash for each session. A volunteer from among the attending artists schedules the models and receives a discount.

Equipment About 10 artists at a time can work comfortably in the 2D studio. It is equipped with easels and tables, rolling taborets, lights on stands, clip-on lights, a model stand, black out shades, and tack walls.
Schedule Drawing sessions from live models take place on Monday evenings 6-8 PM on a regular and on-going schedule throughout the year. As demand grows, more sessions may be added.
Rates $120 for ten tickets or $15 for a drop in session
Policies Together, MMA and the participating artists organize the life drawing sessions. The attending artists run the sessions on an honor system. Because life drawing sessions may include a nude model, participants must be 18 or over or bring a consent letter signed by a parent/guardian.
